NETWORK TECHNICIAN
The Network Technician’s role is to provide a single point of contact for end-users to receive support and maintenance within the organization’s desktop computing environment. This includes installing, diagnosing, repairing, maintaining, and upgrading all PC hardware and equipment to ensure optimal performance. The Network Technician will troubleshoot problem areas (in person, by telephone, or via email) in a timely and accurate manner and will provide end user training and support where required. Documenting support issues and technical procedures will be required.
Job Duties:
- • Active Directory and other account administration
- • Daily administration of email and spam filtering systems
- • Internal customer PC and laptop support
- o Initial setup o Software installation/uninstall
- o Clean/defrag PCs and laptops
- • Printer support
- • Ethernet switch administration
- • Perform and monitor backups
- • Vendor account and contract maintenance
- • Technical documentation
- • Participate in on-call pager duty rotation
- • Ability to troubleshoot and isolate technical problems
- • Ability to multitask
- • Excellent communication and organizational skills
Technical Competencies:
- • Windows XP experience
- • AS400 experience (helpful but not required)
- • Lotus Domino experience (helpful but not required)
- • Experience with Microsoft Office products
Light Duty Assignments:
Portions of this job can be performed under light duty restrictions.
