Our Philosophy

Oxford’s philosophy of doing business can best be described in terms of the company’s approach to people.

It is management’s role to create the conditions within which employees can achieve their potentials. We are committed to employee development and to the eternal quest of trusting them, treating them honestly, mentoring them, insisting on a receptivity to ideas, and more. We do not keep secrets from employees. Oxford’s approach to customers is personal and trusting. To ensure the greatest possible service to customers, we hire employees who demonstrate strong service ethics and understand differences among customers. We train for technical knowledge.

We create products that recognize differences among customers but we do not create custom products. We will sell products to customers who need them and actively work to identify their needs. We recognize customer churn and product churn as a failure to match a need with a solution.

Oxford is a public company but, since its stock is not publicly traded, it is difficult for Oxford’s shareowners to realize the value of their ownership. Our dividend is modest because we reinvest almost all of our earnings to grow the company in new markets and with new products.

We compete with some of the largest companies in the world. While our competitors strive for economies of scale, we compete on the basis of personal service and an intense focus on satisfying the specific needs of each customer.
